Six-Year Transportation Plans for Washington County

Approved Virginia Department of Transportation Six-Year Plan for Secondary Road Improvements, FY 2006-2007 through FY 2011-2012 - developed annually in coordination with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the Washington County Transportation Advisory Board, the Six-Year Plan for Secondary Road Improvements is adopted by the Board of Supervisors in the fall of each year. The Six-Year Plan sets out the plan for allocation and expenditure of VDOT funds for various improvements to Washington County's secondary highway system (those state-maintained roads with state route numbers 600 and above).

In addition to transportation plans of the Virginia Department of Transportation, a portion of Washington County lies within the Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) area for purposes of long-range transportation planning.
